7/15/2009 - A Short Note - ...to say thanks to everyone that came out to Numidia this past weekend. You all did a great job and put on awesome show!!! The Staff at Numidia Dragway told me we were the most professional group they have ever had visit their track!!! So hats off to all of you and congratulations to all the winners. (Yes even Wanda, after she beat me in the semi’s). I also want to thank the AHDRA for there support of this event and for setting the level of professionalism that we as racers have learned from you. Thanks again and GOD Bless. -RichV aka "VERN"

4/9/2009 - WOW  - I got a phone call from Alen Poff yesterday and he asked me for Vreelands stickers for Wanda's and his bikes. Of coures I said no problem. Then it dawned on me, I am now team mates with Wanda, probobly the winningest female rider in AHDRA history and Alen who not only can set up a destoryer he can cut a killer light!!! Altough we have been friends and shared information for years now, it will be nice to call them team mates!!!! You know what they say, "It's the company you keep." Hopfully some of theirwinning ways will rub off on me!!!!  -RichV aka "VERN"

2009 Shake Down Runs - We made it to the track on March 28th for the first time in 09. The track was cold and damp but the crew at Beaversprings Dragway did a great job of getting the track dried and ready. The fact was, the track was not going to hold the horsepower thats Rays V-ROD motors are making. We only made a few passes and then they were only 8th mile passes. With 60ft times out the window because of the cold track, we did have some very good 8th mile e.t.s and mph. To sum it up, with the horsepower gains and the wieght that all three bikes and I have lost, this could be the best season to date! -Rich V aka "VERN"

2009 Season Preview - After putting last year behind us, we're looking forward to 2009. As like everywhere else in the economy, the AHDRA has scaled back on the number of races. Just like all other forms of racing, the reduction of sponsorship dollars diminishing,  In any event, we'll race. We start w/ a season ice-breaker tune-up night (weather permitting) at Beaver-Springs Dragway, about an hour south of Bloomsburg. -Rich V aka "VERN"

2008 Season - The '08 season was crazy. I got sick in the spring & missed a bunch of races. The highlights were #1 qualifier at Atlanta and ran a 9.86 atRockingham with the VR. All the bikes are now in the 9's and the SG bike I am sure will run an 8 next year. -Rich V aka "VERN"

2007 Season - Well the 2007 season is here.  Here's a update. All three bikes have been rebuilt. 2 got new transmisions and the frames powder coated. All three have new valves, springs and such. The VR has lost a little weight thanks to the carbin fiber wheels.  Ray and Joe have worked real hard on the bikes and the dyno #s are inpressive. Gainsville didn't go well, & we'll leave it at that.  -Rich V aka "VERN"

2006 Season Wrap Up - Well the 2006 AHDRA season has come to a end. This was our first year that we ran for points. Of the 8 races we attended, 7 were points races. We finished 9th in V-rod and 13th in Super Sport. We learned a lot and had tons of fun !!!!! All in all we made it to three final rounds and won two of them. We raced in five different classes with 3 V-rods, made lots of new friends. Next year we plan to focus on three classes -  VR, SS and SG. Thanks to all the people that helped make this season a great success Ray V. the motor man, Joe P. the crew chief, Tony V., the Crew, my wife Patti, the new crew. …the list goes on Don, Rick, Marty, Denny, John, Mom and Ron. Thanks to our sponsors – Harley-Davidson Motor Company, Joe Gibbs Racing Oil, Christ in Action, and Dandy Don’s Ice Tea. --- See Ya in Gainesville -Rich V.

STURGIS 2 Wins !!!!!! -- WOW, what a week. Our first ever AHDRA Win came at Sturgis Dragway in SS class and then 10 minutes later, our 2nd in VR. It was great. I can't win these races by myself, it takes the work of Ray Vreeland, my brother and engine builder, Joe Phillips my crew chief, and the rest of the crew, Tony, Steve, Don and Rick for the website. I also want to thank my sponsors, Harley-Davidson, Don Pursel, CHRIST in Action and Joe Gibbs Racing Oil. After the races we set up the free oil change tent. We had a great response and did 121 free oil changes while spreading the word of our Lord JESUS CHRIST. That is more than double the number last year !!!! The oil change team was awesome, Joe, Jarred, Dave, Harold, Bill, Denny, Steve and myself. Big thanks to Brad and Nanci for letting us stay at their Ranch. Richmond is next. -Rich V

The first pass was 9.98 at 132 mph my first pass in the 9s !!!! We qualifyed in all four classes and went to the quarter finals in VR and SS. We keep getting a little better each race.
